Upgrading Third-Party Access to Your Guesty Account

Guesty offers you a method of permitting external applications access to your Guesty account. It is called an Application programming interface (API) and lets you connect custom booking sites and other third-party services with your account. To improve the experience, performance, and security of this service, we have built a new API and are asking you to move your connected applications to it.



Access to your account is granted by you alone and with your explicit permission whenever to wish to enhance your Guesty account with third-party services such as pricing tools and the like, or connecting with your own internal custom built applications. Make sure you trust the vendor before granting them access to your account.

Two types of applications may use the old method to connect with your account.

  1. External apps that you may have built or are from vendors outside of the Guesty Marketplace.
  2. External apps from Marketplace Partners before they became partners.

As a developer, you can learn everything you need to make the changes here. For everyone else, you can help your vendors and developers get a head start by following the guides below.

Creating a New Access Token for Non-Marketplace Apps


  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. From the navigation menu, select Integrations > API.
  3. Take note of the applications on the API page, and possibly write them down for the next step.
  4. Go back to the navigation menu and select Integrations > OAuth Applications.
  5. Generate new access keys for each of the non-marketplace applications on your list (five is the limit). To discover whether one of your apps is on the Guesty Marketplace, refer to the How to Identify a Marketplace App section below.
  6. Provide these keys only to the people you trust so they may update your applications (you will likely need to employ a developer).

Zapier is excluded from this process for now and should remain as is.

How to Identify a Marketplace App

To discover whether your app is one of our Marketplace Partners, follow the steps below.

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. From the navigation bar, select Integrations > Marketplace
  3. In the search input box to the left of the screen, enter the name of the app or company you wish to locate.
  4. If the app exists, it will appear in the results to the right, and you can continue with the steps in the next section. If the app doesn't exist, please follow our instructions in the previous section to create new access keys for it.

  1. Select the relevant Marketplace app from your search results, and click on the Connect button to enter its page.
  2. Click Connect in the top right-hand corner of the page to generate your new API token for this vendor.
  3. Copy the obfuscated token by selecting the copy icon to the right of it.
  4. Log in to your vendor account and replace the existing key with the new one you've copied. If you cannot perform this yourself, contact the vendor for assistance.
  5. Once the new access token is in place, Delete the old API key from your Guesty account.
